Tri County Study Stakeholder Map

Piles Peak Area Council of Governments Tri-County Study

The Piles Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) is kicking off a transportation study for the three counties within the PPACG region including Park, El Paso, and Teller Counties.  This study is intended to identify a regional multi-modal network, discuss priorities and deficiencies, and create a list of future projects. The goals of this study are many, but one main goal is to develop a study that will support local municipalities’ ability to identify and apply for funding.

The Tri-County Study is funded with both Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) and Multi-Modal Options Funds (MMOF).  Thus, when thinking about projects needed within your community, we encourage you to think about projects that will:

  • Expand travel choice, including enhanced non-motorized forms of transportation like biking and walking
  • Preserve historic transportation facilities
  • Improve quality of life for ageing populations or residents in rural areas by proving flexible public transportation services
  • Provide enhanced mobility for persons with disabilities
  • Provide safe routes to schools for children
  • Strengthen the local economy, improve quality of life, and protect the environment
